This is the start of a new transfer. I am SO excited! I received Hermana Magnussen this morning at the transfer site; we are really excited to hit the ground running and work hard this transfer.
Hermana Magnussen is great! She’s from California, is a fantastic missionary, is funny, and just loves life in general. I know that we’re going to have a wonderful time together and that missionary work will abound. 🙂
We had a miracle this morning! Right as we were getting out of the car to unload Hna. Magnussen’s things, there was a young man named Rigo standing outside. We talked to him and discovered that he’d had a really good friend that was a member of our Church. He was curious about what we believed and wanted to meet with us so that we could teach him. He also was concerned about his roommate who is trying to turn his life around; he believed that we’d be the best ones to help him. Boy, is he right! 🙂 As it would turn out, they live in the apartment above ours. Talk about a miracle. I am really excited to see what happens. I know that Heavenly Father is preparing the hearts of men to receive His Son into their lives. As Doctrine and Convenants 29:6-7 says, “And, as it is written—Whatsoever ye shall ask in faith, beingunited in prayer according to my command, ye shall receive. And ye are called to bring to pass the gathering of mine elect; for mine electhear my voice and harden not their hearts…” If we, being united in prayer earnestly seek out opportunities to bless our friends and neighbors with our knowledge of Christ and His gospel, we will receive them. I know it! Keep trying hard to be missionaries. I know that at times it is difficult, intimidating, dauting, and disheartening – but keep going! “Wherefore, be not weary in well-doing, for ye are laying the foundation of agreat work. And out of small things proceedeth that which is great” (Doctrine and Covenants 64:33). What a privilege!
I love you all. Thank you for everything you do for me!
Hermana Sutherland 🙂
