This week has been crazy! First of all, transfers were on Tuesday, which also happened to be a holiday, which is why I haven’t emailed until now. However, I’m here now, and I have some interesting transfer news: I’m staying in El Rio for one more transfer with Hermana Gregory! That’s pretty unusual since she just finished training, but I am really excited. Since we’ve already been with each other for three months, we know how to work well together and I am confident that we are going to see so many more miracles happen. What’s more, I am actually going to be serving as a sister training leader, which basically means that I get to go on exchanges (trade companions for the day) with a lot of other sister companionships. I’m really excited to be able to serve with and learn from even more sisters!
So far this week, Heavenly Father has blessed me with several little confirmations that I’m meant to be right here at this time. One of them is Olga and her family! We had the most amazing lesson with them about the plan of salvation last night. We were teaching Olga and her 13-year-old daughter, Cynthia. At the beginning of the lesson, we asked Cynthia to pray – which she did hesitantly. She’d never prayed with us before, and her mother had only the night before! Right before praying, she asked her mom to say the closing prayer. “Nunca te he escucado resar,” she said! I’ve never heard you pray. So Olga did at the end of the lesson. It was such a sweet moment. These two daughters of God have been so prepared to receive this message. They are so receptive to the spirit – so pure, humble, and teachable. I can see the atonement working in their lives. I can see their testimonies blossom! This message came at just the right time for them; one of Cynthia’s friends had just committed suicide two days before. She was only a 6th grader. I know that the world needs this gospel now, more than ever, and that the Lord is opening the hearts of His elect children to receive it! We are preparing the world and the hearts of men for the second coming of our Lord and Savior. What a sacred responsibility and privilege! This week, pray and seek for opportunities to find those whose hearts are being opened by the Lord. I know they are there, all around you – because Heavenly Father has chosen YOU to be right there, right now!
I love you all!
Hermana Sutherland 🙂
