This week was Hermana Martin’s 27th and last week serving here in El Dorado! She left this morning with Sister Passey; she and Hermana Blackford (remember her? 🙂 ) will be serving together in Saint David. They’ll be teaching in english but they’re blessed because they can both practice their spanish together. 🙂
Now Hermana Hubert and I will be taking over here! We’re really excited; we have lots of goals and plans to help our members and find more investigators to teach. She is such an incredible missionary and I’m so grateful to work with her! I have some more info for all of you about her. 🙂 Back in the day, she was a swimmer and actually took state her senior year in the 500 free after getting pendicitis a few weeks before! She was going to swim on a scholarship for BYU but chose to come on a mission instead. Now, after being through so much with going to Peru and getting sick, she’s here and happier than ever to finally be serving her mission. She has such a light and love for people and I’m going to learn so much from her.
This week we had dinner with the Duarte family. He’s from Mexico City and she grew up here in Arizona. They have two adorable little girls! We actually went over a few days ago to help them paint their house, and I found that Hermano Duarte reminds me so much of my dad! 🙂 He’s really handy with tools and has a talent for making things out of wood. He also was an incredible runner in high school and college, and is going to train Hermana Hubert and I a few times during the week in the morning. 🙂
That’s not much, but that’s all for now! I love you all! Have an amazing week!
We got snow!
